Rotterdam is Amazing! Who knew?

On Saturday, Sept. 21st I went on the architectural tour of Rotterdam with ASH AdultEd.  I have lived here for over two years and never knew how amazing Rotterdam is!  If you have a few free hours, take the trip and check out the nice shopping areas and eclectic architecture.  Rotterdam Info-www.rotterdam.nl

Bruges & Ghent, Belgium-Sept.13th-15th 2013

Ghent

We traveled to Belgium for a quick couples weekend.  The weather wasn't great but the food, beer and atmosphere were fabulous!  We did a city tour on a bus, but wish we had been able to do the recommended boat tour.  We stayed at the Grand Hotel Casselbergh www.grandhotelcasselbergh.com and I give it the **** it was ranked on Booking.com  We found Ghent to be surprisingly beautiful.  Unlike many European cities, the action is centered around a large square with a wide canal running through it.  We picked up a hotel in Gent last minute-Hotel Gravensteen www.gravensteen.be  It was fine and did in a pinch.  We wished we had booked at the Marriott. Ghent was also hosting the kickoff to their classic music festival www.gentfestival.be/en and the city was filled with music and people.  We had way too many beers but a great time overall.
